Using the API

Make videos from your own code, with the same models, credits and library.

The API lets you make videos from your own code. A job made through it is the same job the site makes: the same models, paid from the same balance, landing in the same library, with the same email when it is ready. The full reference is at remerged.ai/developers.

  • Make a key in the API section of your account page. Give it a name, and copy the key straight away — it is shown once, with the webhook signing secret that goes with it.
  • Revoke a key from the same list at any time. Keys are only made and revoked there.
  • Add credits on the account page. The API never runs a tab: no credits, no job.
  • Every plan can use the API, Free included. Free accounts can buy credits too, and on the API Free offers every model and route. Paid plans get 10% off the API: /models and /quote give your price before you make a job, and the job costs what its quote says, or less when a render comes in under it. Characters and the cast need Pro, on the API as on the site.

How a job goes: send the key as a bearer token, ask /quote what a job would cost, make it with /jobs (charged then, refunded in full if it fails), and ask /jobs/<id> every ten seconds or so until it is ready, or pass a webhook_url to be told. Leave the quality out and a video renders at the model's own lowest quality, with no upscaling unless you ask for it.

Prompts made through the API go to the model exactly as written: nothing is added for you, as Create does when you cast people. The exception is Wan 2.6, which expands each prompt itself and may cut a video made from words into several shots. Refer to pictures as Image 1, Image 2 in the order you send them, and to clips and audio as Video 1 and Audio 1; the prompting guides in this help centre apply as they are. Give each reference clip's length as seconds, so a clip of the wrong length is refused before you are charged rather than failing (and being refunded) later.

The API makes videos. Pictures, extending a clip, music and Studio are on the site only for now.

Treat a key like a password. Anyone holding it can spend your credits; if one leaks, revoke it and make another.
