Presets — one choice for where the clip is going
Pick the destination; the model, route, aspect, length and sound follow.
A preset sets everything else for a destination: the aspect the platform shows, the length its viewers sit through, the route that delivers the resolution it can actually display, and sound. Every control stays live afterwards — move one and the preset reads None (Custom on the phone layout) again, because the settings are no longer the preset's.
| Preset | Sets | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | Seedance 2.0 Mini · 480p, no upscale · your aspect · 4s · sound on | Cheapest render to try a prompt. Re-run the keeper with a real preset. |
| Film | Seedance 2.5 · 1080p, no upscale · 21:9 · 10s · sound on | Widescreen for a big screen, rendered at 1080p for real detail. Add Upscale to 4K for the biggest screens. |
| YouTube / web | Seedance 2.5 · 480p, no upscale · 16:9 · 10s · sound on | 16:9, ten seconds, at the value render. Upscale to 4K is the cheapest way to more resolution. |
| TikTok / Reels / Shorts | Seedance 2.5 · 480p, no upscale · 9:16 · 8s · sound on | 9:16, eight seconds. Upscale to 4K if it has to stay sharp after the platform compresses it. |
| Square feed | Seedance 2.5 · 480p, no upscale · 1:1 · 6s · sound on | 1:1 for Instagram, X and LinkedIn feeds, six seconds. |
| Ad spot | Seedance 2.5 · 1080p, no upscale · 9:16 · 6s · sound on | Six seconds, vertical, sound on, rendered at 1080p: a clip that has to stop a thumb. |
No preset turns on an upscale: it costs extra ($0.29 for ten seconds to 4K) and is always your choice, on the Upscale control. Most presets render at 480p, the value render; adding Upscale to 3840x2160 on top delivers more pixels than a native 1080p render for much less. Film and Ad spot pay for the native 1080p render: a cinema-sized screen shows the difference, and an ad has one chance.
On Free, a preset sets the aspect, length and sound; the model and quality stay at what Free renders, and the composer says so.
